You Will Not Die Poem by Cory Jensen

You Will Not Die

Rating: 5.0

You will not die
My arms will hold you.
Keeping your heart beating;
Keeping life in your eyes.
Those ever-changing eyes.
That always bore into my soul;
Into my very being.
My eyes slid down to your lips,
I can see your smile.
Playing through my mind.
One that drew away my sorrow;
That lips that kissed away the pain
The fear and the hate.
The very same lips that brought passion;
And love into my life.
My gaze falls to your hands;
That are icy in my own.
Your fingers are no longer warm.
Hoping to see your chest rise
Only blood spills from your mouth.
No air flows in your lungs,
Your breathing is no longer on my face.
I know you are soaring
On the rings of Heaven.
You always had me to hold.
Carry me with you;
To where-ever you are going.
I was yours.
Only yours to hold.
