Your Not Mine Poem by Melanie Weeks

Your Not Mine

For many desprate attempts to forget
That I could have had you,
So many pains that I've been through.

I saw you the other day.
Him and I were sitting on his bed talking
And you came in with his brother.
I shouted your name,
and hugged you tight.
I was so happy to see you.
I've missed you so much.

You talked about about your new love,
How she's going overboard.
All I could do was look at you.

I tried to make it seem that I didn't really care,
But deep inside I was silently weeping.

I had my chance with you
A long time ago.
I wish I could have done it all again.

And then you left.
And I haven't seen you since.
But your on my mind.
Every waking second
I think about you.

I close my eyes to sleep,
I dream of you eyes,
Hazel and kind of drowsy.
I dream of your nose
Sharp with a slight curve.
I dream of your narrow jawline.
Your slightly puffy lips.

And your not mine...
