Your Words Were Sunsets Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Your Words Were Sunsets

What a fallacy
This illusion they possess
That the misbeliefs would trample
Upon the castles carefully built
These wingless attempts
To take flight upon blue skies
Will not fail, even if they insist
To fill the airs with their screams
With hearts beating like drums
Singing to notes never heard
Narrating verses never written
Let the whispers decide

Forever may not be created
But still we will conquer it
Tomorrows are a blur
But your words were sunsets
And since then…
I've never seen life clearer
