Youth Poem by Afzal Juneja

Youth

Rating: 5.0

Significance of absurd song, all wished to sing,
Music you loved, never let you fit in,
Enticing hormone, edgy jaw, and tight skin,
All tik and all hearts grows thin,
Love isn't a savage and all unknown thirst,
All pillow glows, with ember rust,
Innocent eyes, disappeared in some dream,
Nobody care, where 've you been,
In the hollow sea of strangers, you are one too,
Learned to swim yet didn't move through,
All seek silence but betrayed by laughter to share,
And that arrogant smile isn't so rare,
Infinite possibilities, million desires to be blame,
And hungry stomach sounds too lame,
Interior of you, decorated by unknown rage,
Those tired eyes in burning cage,
You may find citadel, and may meet indolent clowns,
While real friends are in some other town,
The sea is dense and there's no sign of shore,
Dead boy, ain't coming back anymore,
Ambitious and envious to the stars that shines,
Gather knowledge and burn some time,
Suddenly one nap may turns rage into blue flames,
See, there's a falling star to your name,
That incarnative nap could take days, years or decades,
And you are forever young,
Then that absurd song, you— among few, who hesitated,
But beautifully sung.
