Youth Poem by Jaspreet Mann

Youth

When you walked out on tiptoe,
How was I supposed to know?
What was once as beautiful as a dream
Would one day wash off in the stream.
You startled me with your silence
It had after all, been just pretence!
To see how fleeting you had been
Never heard and never ever seen.
When suddenly one strange day
You decided to take it all away.
