When pitch-dark night lodged complaints to the sun,
About the seeming darkness of its soul
Once silver moon comes not to bring the fun,
As no star witnesses opt to console;

A semblance to your aspect, I detect,
Among the lovely things which strayed my way,
As such similitude I oft expect,
To brighten up my very gloomy day;

This heart adores with feelings true and pure
A lady love, so sweet, of classic mien,
So discreet in ways, subtle and demure,
Yet keen to hear buds opening unseen;

Such flower blooms conspicuous in the lea,
As I peruse, it soon made me aware
Just why, when many others there did lay,
This blossom proved special though it's not rare;

Her mornings spent amidst the various blooms,
The garden was in luck to share her day,
Her joy, at times, in singing she resumes
By tune she hums that lilts as symphony;

Will it be right, remembering you by,
As cool, white beach of wavelets rolling low,
Beneath clear skies where shrieking seagulls fly,
Which sail the breeze, erst on my cheeks would blow;
