Love Sonnet 116: 'I Watched Some Clouds The Way We Used To Do, '

I watched some clouds the way we used to do,
Discerning shapes formed every now and then,
When once, a figure looked so much like you,
That brought me feelings, all so sweet again;
It was such joy that flaunts to eyes that see,
Thereafter, changing into something more,
No more a wisp which it was meant to be,
But token mirth....or rain that then may pour;
Thus, I would yearn for happiness that stays,
Not seen by eyes, but for the heart to feel,
Some kindness for all of love's castaways,
To guide them back on path, to trust and heal;
......Like clouds, when so devoid of solid form,
......The more they could to various shapes conform.
