Whenever words fail you
I hope to god your eyes don't

Betray innocence of youth

Drops of water streak in familiar paths
Begging for happiness between the gaps
Watching what I've lost and forgotten pass
Won't let myself think the thoughts I want to ask

Do you ever want to relive a moment in your life?
Not to go back and change the past
But to just experience it one more time
To soak in the beauty of the moment as it passed.

Reach out.
Can someone pull me in?
I'm never going to win,
At this rate.

In A New Perspective,

Hello Life.

I extend my hand to you;
But it's not that we haven't met before.
I'd love to say that I'm new to you.
But I remember you, I'm sure.

I look in the mirror and see someone else
And I'm sure you don't remember me either.
I'm not that perfect girl on that perfect shelf
And I'm not the one you met in the diner.

There are things I've done to hurt you,
Things I've done to cut you short.
Sometimes I've even sought to end you
But I knew the hurt I couldn't afford.

You're so popular amongst my friends;
If I hid you, killed you, they'd hate me.
You should see the look on their faces,
When I even mention our ending.

This relationship we have, we really must fix.
Sometimes I hardly even remember you're there.
This heart inside me, it's beating, right?
But my brain would argue, it seems unfair.

Hello, Life.
I know we've met before.
I know you're always around,
And I know you find me a bore.

But before I bid you adieu,
You'll have to stick around a while longer.
Because until you and I die out,
We can only become stronger.
