Robert Goltz Poems

This change is deadly.
When we slave ourselves to our nature.
When we destroy every glimpse of innocence.
When we violate our senses.
...

I crawl amongst them in a cave,
Under a tombstone – my name engraved
Empty echoes inside my coffin,
My body dead, my flesh has rotten
...

My mind has gone crazy, and there is no calming.
Downtown shootings and overseas bombings.
Homeland destruction and the terrorist expansion,
Drug money funding dictator’s mansions.
...

We lean towards the usual, nothing out of our casual swing.
Usually leaving, coming, and going, never on time for anything.
We plead to the masses, we plead to the scene.
We plead to anyone, but no one hears a thing.
...

Ahh, my dear, what to do today?
Perhaps some coffee, would you please stay?
But, by the way, my sweetie, if I may,
Your dress is quite exquisite, I do say.
...

Shells dropped, shells buried,
People running around in panic, worried.
Bullets zipped, bullets slammed,
Specific targets all are damned.

This Change

This change is deadly.
When we slave ourselves to our nature.
When we destroy every glimpse of innocence.
When we violate our senses.
When we grow into desolation.
When we exchange our morality.
When we become driven towards addiction.
When we discover rights in all the wrong places.
When we ignore the explicit.
When we welcome insanity.
When we bare the wrong arms.
When we discover the absolute.
When we provide the simplicity.
When we improvise the mechanism.
When we stare into nonsense.
When we provide the wrong message.
Our change is righteous.

Our change is righteous.
When we give into their will.
When we are accepting of disgust.
When we accept their (our) differences.
When we eliminate all threats.
When we are absolute.
When we allow permanence to be measured.
When we believe in the better.
When we give what we’ve got.
When we apply their sedition.
When we suck out the doers.
When we margin the believers.
When we carry on without question.
When we carry their weight.
When we apply their burden.
When we are all the same.
This change is deadly.
