Sharon Washburn Flynn Poems

The notes waft upon the wind,
throbs of my fast-beating heart
pulsing to the tune of your caress.
I am floating on a whisper,
...

The air is crisp with autumn promise,
fills the senses with the smoky scent
of a fired-up wood burning stove.
A woodland fairy dances past us
...

Do you hear the sounds?

Ghosts dancing on the wind.
Cold breath forming a halo
...

In the deep star-dotted sky,
the witch of the Red Moon
lays down inside its crescent shape
and sways to the tune of her heart.
...

Another birthday, another feather
How amazing the span of wings and years.
How beautiful each feather becomes
when cast into the gleam of a beaming Son.
...

What if you were the Moon?
Would I sail right into you?
Get lost in the depths
of your heartthrob seas.
...

Scatter my heart
on the fields of Tomorrow.
Broken pieces mere dust
upon the ground.
...

I am the castle
and you are the dream.
I see your face as a cloud
at the dawning of twilight.
...

She walked across the span of decades,
her face the delight of thousands.
In her hands, she held the heart of man,
the soul of a soul-less generation.
...

Like the waves of a troubled ocean,
waves of love tumble over
the shore of her tempest-tossed heart.
The moonlight showers her lithe form
...

The night spirits whisper
through the flames
singing their words of love,
humming their thoughts of hope.
...

Nocturnal, my dear,
always nocturnal..

These thoughts in twilight dare
...

Rain reflecting off the Moon,
wash my heart free
of all feeling, all hope.
Soak me through
...

Sharon Washburn Flynn Biography

I have been writing in ernest for over thirty years. I was blessed to be published in various small press poetry journals and anthologies such as Lucidity, Midwest Poetry Review, Parnassus Literary Journal and The Inspirational Poet. My biography appears in the Eighth and Ninth editions of The International Who's Who Of Poets and Poet's Cyclopedia. I was blessed to compete at a poetry convention and be awarded a publishing contract in August of 2003. This is my writer's resume but it does not tell about how writing is the heart and soul of me. I would write if no one saw or read my poetry because I love to express myself with the written word. I just plain love to write.)

Dance Within Passion's Sky

The notes waft upon the wind,
throbs of my fast-beating heart
pulsing to the tune of your caress.
I am floating on a whisper,
dancing on a cloud in your sky.

I hear your name called
and I soar on wings of love.
Twirling and whirling, sashaying
into the wealth of your arm's embrace.
My fingers drift down the length
of your bountifully scented skin.

We sigh in unison
moving closer together
in a flurry of satin and feathers.
I tremble as you pull me tighter
and the dance grows more intense.

My head arches back
as your lips press torso and thighs.
The night offers us the stars,
plays a smoky melody
that gives us the rhythms
of this sultry night-time tango.

Passion calls our desire to attend,
'Come dance within my sky.'
And so, we meet in this moment
dancing into the stars of sighs.
We let the night carry us far, far away.
