Heartbreak Rain Poem by Sharon Washburn Flynn

Heartbreak Rain

Rain reflecting off the Moon,
wash my heart free
of all feeling, all hope.
Soak me through
to the skin of my soul.
Clothe me in dampened dreams.
Let the stars be liquid
and melt into the darkness.
Take love and wash it away.
Hang all thoughts of love
out to dry. Place a veil
across the Moon's Face,
as black and dark as
the void within my heart.

Rain pouring over the Moon,
cleanse me with tears of loss,
with drops of unwelcomed pain.
Drown me deeply
in the eddies of sadness.
Float my passion down
streams of abandonment,
to the rivers of jagged sobs.
Let the throbbing raindrops
pulse and patter upon the roof
that covers the unkempt strands
of endearments made,
the fragmented pieces of moonbeams.
Rivulets immersed in anguished seas.
