Shelby Lanier Poems
Lost in thought Lost in pain Lost in fear That you can never retain
Every breath that I breathe
It has happened Finally once again My breath was caught Which I could not contain
You don’t know Brokenness!
You don’t know brokenness Until you're in rock bottom! You don’t know brokenness
If you only knew!
I watch you from afar Thinking of what to say To get your attention Which I could never do anyway
My Deepest Apologies
My heart cries to you Knowing the pain that I caused, Hoping I can help you understand That I too had a heart I lost.
I wish I were happy Then, when I am, I'm sad! I wish I were different
A heart that cries for help!
My heart beats fast Out of my chest, And here I am Longing to feel at rest!
The girl in the Corner
She sits She waits No sound Not a trace
A Life's Mistake
One puff could change life forever On sip could do the same? One stupid little move To me seems lame!
My Secret Truth
There is a mystery Deep inside my heart That I dared to not tell a soul For this secret, to never be apart
True Friends, A sweet smell True Friends,
Don’t give up
When your heart is crushed, Don’t give up! When your feel so low,
Sincerity from within
Some may say That my heart is pure as gold And that my smile Could never be sold
My Saving Grace
Out of this turmoil And free from the bonds; Restored and renewed And now carry on

Lost in thought
Lost in pain
Lost in fear
That you can never retain
Lost in grief
Lost in heartbreak
That you can never relief
Lost in sorrow
Lost in death
Lost in misery
That you can never refresh
Lost in life
Lost in words
Lost in everything
That you can never return
Lost in chaos
Lost in peace
Lost in burdens
That you can ever release
Because these are the things
We think and feel
Through the good and the bad
It’s a forever a done deal!
