Earth got suddenly denuded of all life
With a morose dullness so rife
A tint of grayness crept over heaven's vault
All movements came to a freezing halt

Turning down the volume knob of the world
I went down into the garden of silence
With only the music of my heart for company
To be alone, where I could be all to myself

There is music slumbering in me
Alas, when I try to pour it out
All that comes out is dead silence
As one with a stone for a tongue
...

Silent move the meek docile lambs,
Behind the shepherd to be huddled inside.
Food and shelter is all they need,
And abide to be sheared with no trace of dissent.
