Blow Out Poem by Mimi Eagan

Blow Out

Rating: 2.7

My heart is a spare tire stuck
in snow deep tread marks show
the skid on glassy
cinders and blue frayed
cloth frozen earth is tossed
up from the spinning leaving scars
on underbrush and patches
of ashes fill my mouth rocking to and fro to a strange
rhythm rocking to and fro as a child's
cradle would but the wrong
tune alone abandoned
on black ice my eyes search
for you in a sweeter
time the village tow
truck won't be needed
