Cross My Heart Poem by Bill Simmons

Cross My Heart

Rating: 5.0

Cross my heart, hope not to cry
Memories they flutter by
I remember you and I
Once upon a time in our lives

Toss and turn all night till dawn
Wet pillow that I’m sleeping on
The heart keeps clinging on
Holding on to a love that’s gone

The visions come to me
Of a life how it used to be
Cross my fingers hope to sleep
But the dreams wont let it be

Cross my fingers, hope not to cry
Something is missing from my life
I can feel the hurt swell inside
Now the tears fall from my eyes

Now the tears fall like rain
As again I relive the pain
Nothing in my world’s the same
The heart holds on but knows in vain

Again another sleepless night
Toss and turn till morning light
As the dreams come that I fight
Cross my fingers, hope not to cry

Toss and turn all night till dawn
This wet pillow that I cry on
The heart keeps clinging on
Holding on to a love that’s gone.
