Down amongst the mossy rocks,
Rain puddles, in her hiding spot,
He crouches next to her, paused
Then unbidden, kisses her.
In her head, music — guitars
Classical and sharp piano;
A swelling overture to love.
She tries to get away; it pours.
As he drives himself inside her
She’s thinking, why now this tune?
