Driving Poem by Kim McInnis

Driving

the painfilled notes of my song ring out
dripping ironically
broken in mangled gasps
sobbing as the car tears farther and farther away

I feel a part of me dying
as something new is born

I scribbled this down in the car on my way to Toroto over summer vacation. It's narrative; a really sentimental song came on the radio and started to break up as I drove away from the signal. Getting away from the troubles and torment of regular life in my regular place. Or, in essence, taking a vacation.
