Falling Star Poem by Shylah Clarissa Turcotte

Falling Star

Catch a falling star
Dying in the sky-
Watch as the light fades away.

Turn to the north
With the star in your arms-
Watch as the sky turns to gray.

Burning your hands with heavenly fire
As the skin chars away-
Only blood remains.

Catch a falling star
Rising from the ashes-
Never let it go away.

Gentle rhythm of the death
Of those who once lit a sky of blue
Turned to black with the stain of the dying.

Blood of the glowing
Dyeing the ground as
Tears wash it away.

Catch a falling star
Dying in the sky-
Watch as the light fades away.

Watch as the day turns to gray
Watch as I slip away
