Freedom Train Poem by Roger Snow

Freedom Train

Wandering,
nothing old in my way
every mile met with wondering

maybe one day
I'll begin to settle down

Until then, ,
keeping moving until
I covered far too much ground

Left California early Fall
twenty two years now
You'd think by now
I've probably seen it all, , ,
but, , ,
I know there's always
someplace new
for me to be

Cascades Mountain Snow
stuck deep
had a rescue come
and give me a Tow, ,

Out on the Coast of Oregon
found Seals Basking
in the noonday Sun

Down in Mexico
Lost Money on a Bet
of an old Horse that
didn't know the meaning
of Giddy up go, , ,

Out in Colorado
Met the Wife of my dreams
turned out though
she wasn't exactly what she seemed

Arizona
ah man,
nothing good to say
if the Heat
catches up to you
not hard at all
to melt away

New Mexico
has land so sweet
just watch where you
place your feet
Rattlesnakes bite fast
run, if you want
your time here
to last, , ,

Montana
got Mountains High
Beautiful women
with Sultry Eyes
but Cold 9 months
a Year
and UFO's
when the Skies are Clear

Dakotas, Badlands weird
get lost in them
as you might have feared
but the Rivers flow
clean
sweetest water
You've ever seen
~~~~~ End
Freedom Train
