From Now On Poem by Agbola Oluseyi

From Now On

Long enough in the confounded land
Where all my plans will not stand
And things will not work out as planned
For doubt is secreted by my gland,
I will have to change my thoughts
And be changed from now on

Long enough by the lazy sea
Where complain has been my tea
And I am conquered by strengthless bee
For from my challenges I do flee
I will have to build my strengths
And be built from now on

Long enough on this mat I sleep on
Where vain men have been my companion
And I have been a local champion
For I desire to be a global icon
I will have to show my real stuff
And be shown from now on

Long enough at this thinking lake
Where I plan the ways to take
And just stand with the weeds, with my rake
For I have a name I must make
I will have to make a move
And be made great from now on

Long enough on this listening sit
Where you hear how I won't fall into pit
And you get stink bit by bit
For it is time you need to be fit
I desire that you take this personal
And be taken up from now on
