I’d Be Lying... Poem by Sarah Holmes

I’d Be Lying...

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love you,
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t care.
But I’m sitting here in the darkness,
Knowing you’re not there.

You said you’d never leave me,
You said you’d never go away.
But I’m crying into my pillow,
Knowing I can’t stay.

I’m wishing this wasn’t real,
I’m wishing we didn’t have to part.
I’m sitting listening to our favourite song,
Knowing I’m dying of a broken heart.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love you,
I’d be lying if I said you should go.
But I’m wishing I could have only told you,
How much I love you so.
