It’s Just a Matter of Time


What we had was very extraordinary
Memories so precious and dear
But still it really had to end so early
I thought I could have you near

I’ll be honest to you and to my heart
I loved everything about you
And I never thought we’d be apart
I know that you feel that too

If only I could change the past
I’d do it just to be with my love
And hope it will never ever last
But memoirs are all I’ll have

So my dear, wherever I’ll be going
I’ll keep my promise that I won’t forget
To share with you all my doings
Is something I’ll never regret

As I go, I wish to see you smile
And hug me with all your might
Though the distance will take miles
I will leave you with no fright

Before the day ends I’ll be gone
Take care, be safe and warm
Remember the things for you I have done
And keep yourself away from harm

But still keep your hopes up
It will not at all be too late
My departure is not a reason to stop
Someday, we might meet through fate

Whatever the result may be in the end
Neither you, nor me can ring the bell
If you are to be my lover or my friend
No more than time can ever tell
