A lonely lad fell in love
With a lively lass,
Lovely as a lotus,
Until he met a lovelier lass,
Who he little knew,
Was a lousy loose-skirt,
Until he was left lonelier still,
And literally languishing
In loveless solitude.
Only then, only then
Did the loony lad
Learn a lesson in love,
Lurid enough
To last a lifetime.
