Listen To Your Heart
Our love drifted away like a ship from the shore,
My heart called you back but my mind let you go,
As we said our goodbyes there was no going back,
I was such a fool for it's courage I lacked,
To tell you I loved you that I needed you so,
Would have made such a difference,
Now I'll never know.
I left it too late,
How stupid am i?
All I can do know is think back and cry,
If only I'd followed my heart I am sure,
You'd be loving me now,
And I'd be loving you.

such an honest outcry from a heart that learned the hard way---they say we learn from our mistakes--that's what they say---they are sometimes blind---it is so rare that life will do a rewind so we can do it right--love yiour poem--top marks
