Lucky Girl Poem by moon batchelder

Lucky Girl

Jonathan was rich,
a fact for which
he can't be blamed.

Carlos was a poor man,
but she'd loved him
just the same.

the last two great loves
of her life
exotic were, and rare!

so much that
other loves, before,
seemed scarcely to compare.

so much that
never lover henceforth
would her heart allow

too cruel it seemed to let
another try
fulfill her now.
