Muzzle Poem by Derek Fitzpatrick

Muzzle

If my soul made a noise..
It'd scream for release, depart..

Yet, sound like a Muzzle.
Porcelain hearts, broken apart
In your soul..
Shattering unfinished puzzles.

Do you believe..
In the afterlife?
Does death make you afraid..
Of yourself?

Breath..life..
What have you felt?
Satisfied?
The oracle lied.

Fade..black & white.
Let them melt,

Create grey,
Time's fabric shall twist & fray
Even if your hourglass
Contains hardened clay.
