Neon Lights Poem by Rayan Ali

Neon Lights

Pages turn back and forth,
Words rupture like total strangers,
Letters fall like shooting stars,
Lines tear apart mercilessly from each other
And all chapters of life go astray, forever.

Dreams turn into never-ending nightmares,
Fear linger about in our minds,
Illusions circle the path of our thoughts,
Lunacy seems to be working on its way
And all the pleasure of life becomes
Nothing more than vacant images.

Love leaves the edges of our heart,
Laughter denies to smile on our face,
Hope no more shines in our eyes,
Sympathy no more resides in our acts
And all the comfort of life dies out.

Taking turns we never anticipated to take
And seeing facts and reasons we never notioned of seeing,
Our life flashes right before our eyes,
Like neon lights, blinking and fading in every moment,
As a life is given and another is given.
