Upon God’s wind we’d love to soar
On Jesus’ Dove to ride
Yet still we knock on Satan’s door
Then run and try to hide
So oft just like a circus clown
We wear a smiling face
Yet deep inside our hearts are down
Because of sin’s disgrace
Behind a mask we sit in church
The truth we would conceal
God’s Spirit though sees where to search
And knows what’s true and real
Although the world can be such fun
Her sin we can’t afford
To serve two-masters can’t be done
We need to serve the Lord
From God there is no hiding place
No matter how we try
The truth will always show his face
However great we lie
Each secret deed will come to light
For all to see so clear
But Christ alone can lead us right
When God we learn to fear
To fear the Lord is surely wise
It keeps the conscience clean
No need to wear a fool’s disguise
When all by God is seen
We have no need to act the clown
The fool is Satan’s wife
Instead through Christ we’ll wear a crown
When truth’s our way of life.
