Nobody's Fool Poem by Sandra Black

Nobody's Fool

Rating: 5.0

You are nobody's possession
You are nobody's fool
I am sorry if sometimes
I seem a bit uncool

I bind you in chains
I make tall claims
While all along I knew
This is only a dream true

You are the master
Of your own destiny
I can only hope
To share for all eternity

But I won't hold
The sand too tightly
In my palms
It is best let go lest alarmed

I wait and watch
With bated breath
To me if he returns
With hope and health

Yet again I try
To cage a free bird
Instead I should
Fly onward

Fly and soar
Into the wild skies
Somewhere in the distance
Maybe you will hear my voice

If anyone does have to change
Let it be me
And not you instead
For you I offer my very best

Insightful utterances set aside for sober reflection. Elegantly penned with clarity of thought and mind. A beautiful creation from the heart. Thanks for sharing Sand.
