Slip Away Poem by lala rain

Slip Away

Rating: 5.0

When the clouds move faster
than the breaths i take,
it's like i'm in a dream from
which i cannot wake.

Like i'm sinking in a drain
with the water swirling,
dizzy and spinning
my head twirling.

Like i'm constantly trying to escape
but begin fumbling,
and then my feet slip
and i go down tumbling.

And as i watch the sky
crashing violently like the sea,
i stare at the darkness
falling down above me.

I lay still on the grass and
feel the blades between my finger tips,
like my mind is on the edge
and then suddenly i slip.

I here the other lost souls
as they cry and weep,
and like a ship
i sink into the shadows of the deep.

And i grow tired of trying
and i feel so small
so i leave, let go
and then watch myself fall.

And as i continue to watch
the world turn to shades of grey.
i slowly slip away.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Very good indeed. I love the sky/cloud/sea references. Esra Sloblock
