Street Choir Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Street Choir

I hear the beat of the working class
Fairs and trumpets
Hats and jazz
Women with feathers bright as joy
Walk like the isles are gold
Sax on top of a piano
Bass moves like a fight for freedom
Look around and see the people
The struggle
Music out of the cage
Poetry in scales and octaves
Jams of the spirit city
The street choir amidst the game
