The Preamble Poem by Vinaya Joseph

The Preamble

In ancient land where rivers flow,
A timeless dream began to grow,
A vision clear,
A purpose grand,
To shape the future of this land.

'We, the People, '
Voices rise,
With unity beneath the skies,
In justice, freedom,
Truth we trust,
A sovereign bond,
a sacred trust.

A sovereign state,
With strength untold,
Where every soul can be bold,
No monarch's rule,
No tyrant's reign,
In people's hands,
The power remains.

Justice for all,
In courts of law,
To bridge the gaps,
To mend the flaw,
In social bonds and economic ties,
Justice sees with equal eyes.

Liberty we cherish deep,
In thought and faith,
Where spirits leap,
To speak, to worship,
Or to dream,
In liberty's light,
Our lives redeem.

Equality we vow to claim,
No more to live in caste or name,
In every heart,
In every mind,
Equality's promise we shall find.

And Fraternity,
A bond of love,
Where every citizen's dreams are wove,
A brotherhood,
A sister's care,
In every act,
In every prayer.

This is the pledge we all uphold,
In this preamble,
Bold and old,
To build a nation,
Fair and free,
Where all can live in dignity.

India's spirit,
Bright and true,
In these words,
It shines anew,
A beacon to the world we send,
Our Preamble,
Where hopes ascend.
