Treasured Island Poem by Matloob Bokhari

Treasured Island

TREASURED ISLAND
That book is precious to me
That book lifts my soul
Where love is written on wings of butterflies
Where every word is free like a graceful butterfly
Where my eyes could see the awe of Mother nature:
Brightest Stars in the darkest night
Moon like a gentle lady climbing in the sky
Rain glistening on breathing trees
Smiling colours of dancing flowers.
I want to read that book with a large tea cup
In the company of my friend - my friend
More beautiful than the moon and the stars
A kind, caring and laughing lady
Give me that book!
That book is most sacred gospel tome
That book is a treasured island to me
