Out of the dark, a lambent, lovely day has dawned
In silvery brilliance the early morning is drowned
In the sapphire sky, the sun has appeared on his diurnal shift
Over the firmament the vagrant clouds aimlessly drift

Days ago, under a black umbrella,
The Earth, shrouded in sheets of white,
Lay inert as a lifeless corpse,
Waiting for the ineluctable graveyard shift
...

When the sun glowed warm with brighter sheen
The Earth that lay inert in drunken sleep
Woke up suddenly to greet the glorious dawn
Casting aside the blanket of fluffy wool
...

After the sleet and snow of winter
Life prepares to take a rebirth
To adorn the barren spaces in a riot of colours
Sunlight glistens, daffodils and daisies spring
