When I wake up in the morning
You're the first thing on my mind
You're all I think about
I miss you all the time
...
I felt like it was all over
I stood there and yet I did not
It was as if I were telling another's story
How could it be my own?
...
This poem was actually inspired by a tree that had white flowers. I was walking to work one day and saw it. I sat under it to write as I admired it's beauty. It was the first poem I ever wrote.
...
I wrote this poem because I said 'You have the nicest smile I have ever seen, ' to someone who is very special to me. The last line of the poem was written that way on purpose, not because I lacked the words to describe his captivating smile, but because it would make it much more memorable to put those words that he'll hopefully always remember that I said.
The sunrise peeking over the horizon
The smell of roses

To Someone Special
When I wake up in the morning
You're the first thing on my mind
You're all I think about
I miss you all the time
Even when we've only been apart for seconds
When it rains, it feels like you're here
Because every dropp brushes on my cheek
Like every kiss we've shared
When it's cold
I long for your warm touch
When I see the stars
I can see your eyes sparkling
As they look into mine
When I feel your lips pressed against my own
They remind me of rose petals
So gentle and soft
As I lay with you in bed
Entangled in your arms
I wonder
Is loving you what heaven is like?
