1. The Moment of a Soldier
Summoned away for weeks even months, Miles from home in a foreign land.
The reason they're there is an obvious one, although one may wonder if it's all worth it.
Gun shots ring in the background,

2.

Abby
She runs around with a big Popsicle grin.
Asking her daddy to spin her again.
She is full of giggles and energy galore,
...

Suicide
The only thing she has is nobody at all.
No one is there to catch her when she falls.
She lies in bed at night with tear filled eyes,
...

On one long summer night
We were out of mind and out of sight.
Just laying in the bed of your truck, without a worry in the world and living on luck.
As we stare at the stars above,

I am happy, silly, misunderstood.

The Moment Of A Soldier

1. The Moment of a Soldier
Summoned away for weeks even months, Miles from home in a foreign land.
The reason they're there is an obvious one, although one may wonder if it's all worth it.
Gun shots ring in the background,
Cold earth being blasted away,
Along with those who hide upon it.
A thought runs through his mind,
Will I ever get to see her?
The birth of his new baby girl grows near,
He ponders the life of a daughter without a father, A wife without a husband,
A family demolished from three to two.
He goes deep into the war.
All thoughts racing through his head,
A moment of a soldier.
