The Moment Of A Soldier Poem by Taylor Hall

The Moment Of A Soldier

1. The Moment of a Soldier
Summoned away for weeks even months, Miles from home in a foreign land.
The reason they're there is an obvious one, although one may wonder if it's all worth it.
Gun shots ring in the background,
Cold earth being blasted away,
Along with those who hide upon it.
A thought runs through his mind,
Will I ever get to see her?
The birth of his new baby girl grows near,
He ponders the life of a daughter without a father, A wife without a husband,
A family demolished from three to two.
He goes deep into the war.
All thoughts racing through his head,
A moment of a soldier.
