Of a little lady who always tried to please
Friends and family even though she wheezed

Decompressing while sitting on the porch
putting pressing demands of the day aside
watching the crystals of life slowly dissolve
as surfacing thoughts are unwittingly untied

Long ago I had the presence of mind
To collect dried seeds from dying flowers
Thinking at the time… what a splendid find
Come spring they'll have resurrecting powers
