I feel the thrill of a naughty kid
when the spray of lashing waves
falls in sprinkles all over
soaking me from head to foot

Petals fall, wheels roll
How swift is the flight of time

Lifting the veil of my translucent memory

We are granted a fixed quantum of time
Each second passes with a silent chime
But like a strident alarm clock
Time impinges on us like a loud knock

There stood a castle on the summit of a hill
Now fallen to decay, hidden among bushes wild
It perched like an eagle’s nest among the hills
Once owned by a Lord, gentle and mild
