Udita Garg Poems

1.

irregular, rough, widely branched-
(too much shade perhaps)
a shadow arched
and happiness caught between the gaps.
...

under my pillow it sleeps
absolutely silent, with me
sharing perhaps my dreams
feeding images into me
...

a fruit, to peel and peel the skins
o reach the soul's juice
a hidden yellowed book of sins
repentance, and a truce
...

I had been lost in love… forever
Why and how were never answered
The desire to be always together
With each second, it quadrupled
...

The continuous void
Of untamed action
Controlled by virtue of birth
Hidden pleasures, unheard voice
...

far far away from you
devoid of the rights to share
or even care
for you
...

utter helplessness here
a dilemma rests in my heart
can't tell a friend apart.
...

keep your glasses with you
i do not need eyes of a lover
no wine i wish would be mine
nothing red.
...

mixed roots
in mixed soil
no one knows
unspoiled or not
...

you are like sand
slipping away from my hand
each passing moment
but the little bruises that you make
...

The Best Poem Of Udita Garg

She

irregular, rough, widely branched-
(too much shade perhaps)
a shadow arched
and happiness caught between the gaps.

at times when you feel low
you find solace under his bow-
tall, brown, strong
and in half caught embrace-
a death she did efface

her black ensnaring curls
is all that she has to lull
him into sleep

dispossessed of any beauty
her eyes and smile were her hopes only
perhaps that too will be snatched one day
accounting to the world's way

she feared losing the loss she had
her wounds were all that were left
and those beautiful scars
she had carved herself on her arms, legs and heart
a sweet paining past

all covered is she in those draped veils
these scars will never be seen
by those for whom they were created

but when a stranger who'd be one with her someday
will unveil her to see and feel her beauty
these glaring scars will stare into his eyes

meanwhile in front of the mirror, she sat
thinking, 'i fall in love with myself in red.'

(note: this poem moves from the last line to the first (if i may say, upwards) in terms of sequence of events thematically.)
