Life begins with a Whine

On a stone wall, by the pavement
Annoyed and angry,
With daggers drawn at everyone
Sat he dejected and depressed.

A PILGRIM

A tramp in the eternal quest after love
Halting in and moving out from shrine to shrine
...

Arise! Oh Heart, from the catacombs of the dead
Shake off the dust, for Life beckons you like a buddy
Peel off the weariness that wraps you like a shroud
And walk to the open to perceive the light.
...

As I walk through the graveled paths
When the stinging stones speak to me
Of the pain thrust on trampling feet
I see you in the unlit alleys of my memory
...

You stood before me, a rose in full bloom
Lips red, ripe cherries wet with moisture
I kissed away the ambrosial liquid
Inhaled your scent
...

On the stage she stood, a sculpted image
With music, she began to sway
With rising rhythm, she gyrated in frenzied joy
Her body flowed like a droplet on a slimy lotus leaf
...

Pointing to the sky, said one- “A loon”
“No”- said the other- “It’s a heron”
The argument ran thus
Amid the aged, unwise
...

Between the lovers, fell a silence deep
Which not even a wind could sweep
One was totally deaf
The other lately dumb
