My leaves, in spring, are bright, deep green
I shine and sparkle and soak in the light
Bright sun beating down on me
I grow taller, taller
...
The falling water calms me,
The splashes against my face,
Clear the past away,
Any guilt, sadness, confusion,
...
Lean, brown trees, that never have leaves,
Bend to lightest breeze,
They swing and rattle,
creak and clatter,
...
What's a poem?
It doesn't always have to rhyme,
it tells a story,
or speaks a mind,
...
The kids who are accidents,
have the harder lives,
they were never meant to happen.
I'm not talking about the immature teens,
...
You look into my eyes,
shattering glass,
You look at my smile,
an empty expression lining the sides,

Figure Skating
Expectations
To glide, on one leg
to stay steady, not slip
on ice.
to stand on your toe, and spin, spin, spin
and not get dizzy.
to be graceful, beautiful
a swan
nimble and sharp
a needle.
you must fly into the air
twisting perfectly,
skirt twirling,
land without a flaw,
or be struck down.
never stop, never stop.
all eyes, observing, judging
must come out on top
must be perfect,
must be graceful,
must create intricate figures in the ice,
must be an ice skater,
a figure skater.
but.
