In Nature's World Nature's wonders do abound
The billions of ants that crawl around the ground
The trillions of flying things beetles, flies and bees
That buzz around the blossom laden trees.

The World's many billion people controlled by the greedy few
But to every billionaire there is there are a million who
Go to sleep weak and hungry their wasted bodies thin
For days they haven't eaten their bones showing through their skin.

When women will rule the World sadly i won't be around
My bones will be resting forever in some quiet dead person's ground
But what a World 'twill be to live in the flower of peace will bloom again
And for as long as women do rule the World peace in the World will remain,

In years from now will the children of the future on warm evenings in the prime of Spring
On trees and bushes in groves, woods and parklands when flowers are blooming hear the wild birds sing
For a World without birds would be sad to live in and sad to learn that they are becoming rare
These are sad times for people who love Nature and who for Nature's creatures genuinely do care,

For to make a better World to live in you can help in no small way
You can live by love and kindness do a good deed every day
You cannot be kind to others if your higher self you can't embrace
And that applies to everybody of every culture and every race.

A World without patriotism and religion that would not seem a bad thing
No wars to fight for God and Country of other things one could sing
Than in victories paid for in bloodshed there's other things of which to sing of and write
There's love of humanity and Nature there should be more to life than wars to fight

You laugh the world laugh with you, you cry you cry alone
An old saying still quite relevant and it's relevance well known
You feel down and dejected don't seem to have a mate
But when you feel in joyous mood with you they celebrate.

I'll tell to you a story of one I vaguely know
An aged veteran of World war 2 some sixty years ago
A poor worn out old warrior the years have left him gray
In the early stages of forgetfulness his memory in decay.

You feel the World's against you your car has broken down
Way out there in the country miles from the nearest town
You sit there in the driver seat your head bowed against the wheel
Thinking to yourself I'd be better off dead this is how low you do feel.

He is sixty his hair dyed brown and she is a natural blond of nineteen
And strolling hand in hand along the beach road every evening they are seen
His grandchildren as old as she is it is so true what they say
That money does speak every language and it has always been this way.

We live in a material World though suppose it was always that way
And money does speak every language a wiser one than I did say
Still decency once stood for something though those values now in decay
And nowadays far more greed and corruption materialism is with us to stay.

'Twould not be a nice World to live in a World without bushes and trees
With the strong stench of pollution blowing in the breeze
Without natural windbreaks from the gale force wind
And no place to shelter for the hairy and the feathered kind.

You may feel the whole World is against you but few things in life do seem fair
But hope for a better tomorrow of the future one should not despair
And may today it be your worst day the toughest times for you may have gone
Just like every other survivor you hang in there and keep on keeping on

For the winner 'tis not easy to be humble since victory does taste so sweet
And as for the one who did not win 'tis hard to be gracious in defeat
In a World of winners and losers the winners only seem to count
And the tag of the gallant second to nothing does seem to amount,

The women of the World as people they are great
They give birth to the children and in so doing life create
In every woman ever born a nurturing soul you'll find
The mothers and the aunties a credit to Humankind.

We live in the same World and breathe the same air
And whether our skin pigment is dark or is fair
Red is the colour of the blood we bleed
We are homo sapiens and of the one breed

The World energy resources depleted and the oil wells are running dry
And perhaps in a decade from now the super rich will become poorer when they realize their money cannot buy
Gas to put into their big cars parked in their garages the people with nowhere to go
To yet it is a known fact out of hardship that spirituality can grow.

We need a World leader who will speak out and say
Enough is enough of hatred and war there is another way
To make a more peaceful World the hungry we must feed
We will set the good example as war to terrorism only lead.

Before we think of changing the World 'tis ourselves we must change
To say something like that may seem a bit strange
To old mistrusts and half truths 'tis not hard to cling
Compassion for others it is such a great thing.

When your amount of money can say more about you than words of you can ever say
It does not speak volumes of the society that we have to live in today
If that only speaks of our true worth it does not say much for humanity
When you say money only matters you seem spiritually bankrupt to me.

why some people wish for power over others i will never understand
For to wish one to jump to their every command
The would be dictators of the World it does seem
They see abuse of their power as good for their self esteem,

'Tis said life doesn't exist on the moon or on mars
But is there a planet somewhere in the stars
Where people drive around in big motor cars
And where they have their sing songs and music in their local bars?

The World is ours to live in and the World not ours to rule
And those who are cruel to animals to people can be cruel
To be cruel for to be kind does not seem right to me
You win trust by acts of kindness though some with that may not agree,

In a world of self promotion the egotistical succeed
And 'tis not by good example that many do seem to lead
Posseessed by their greed for money and their need for renown
And they even do their very best to trample others down,

Society sees her as not quite right she does look a bit thin
For women in the modern World it does seem hard to win
Her sister than her much plumper is seen as over-weight
Yet even on the perfect woman there is a use by date.

On what has gone wrong in the World we all have our own bit to say
Yet on who does Govern the Nation not all of us do have our way
And Government policies we do not agree with to our anger well may be fuel
But those things we have to put up with and such is majority rule
...

In this World of more than six billion people of every race and breed of woman and of man
The longest lived just live a few years with the century and in time that's not a very lengthy span
And in their lives so many have to suffer and of malnutrition many even die
Whoever first spoke of an egalatarian society only spread false hope that grew to a lie.

I'm not one of busy man made places I love where the World is quiet
A wood where the songbirds are singing in the evening in the warm sunlight
A cool place by a creek or a river when the warm sun burns in the sky
Lying in the shade watching the dark swallows as above the landscape they fly,

Out there in the World of the wild and the free
The grey shrike thrush pipes on the black wattle tree
Though some other birds to look at than him seem more fair
There is so much beauty in his wildborn air,

With all of the World's poetasters a common bond I share
Our type are very plentiful and we were never rare
To fashionable poetry readings we're not invited for to read
And it can be said about us that we are a common breed.

The cares of the World have gone to your head
If you cannot laugh you may as well be dead
Compared to others your worries are little yet you always seem down
There is never a prize for the saddest face of the Town.

The World is becoming more multicultural your neighbours the people next door
Are of a different skin colour to you and they hailed from a far distant shore
But with them you do get on quite well and they are nice people to know
And they always seem happy to see you with a smile and a cheerful hello.

If people could learn to live in harmony
What a beautiful World to live in 'twould be
Where people would not go to war over culture, religion and land
And against violence and terrorism united would make a stand

In a World where millions of poems are being penned every day
And words are being used in every sort of a way
And on any one subject few seem to agree
That us humans are complex it does seem to me

A new and a better World I may not live to see
But the time is not far distant when all people will live free
Of oppressive regimes and terrorism and greed and poverty
For all of those poor victims of capitalism who live in penury.

The World is full of bullies and by far too much power we give
To those who don't believe in to live and let live
We see their weakness as a strength their true selves they disguise
And one might say that they have pulled the wool over our eyes.

We live in a time when those who show compassion by some are
seen as weak in some strange way
That there's no place in society for do gooders the ruthless
are the leaders of today

I cannot empathize with the poor since I'm not in poverty
And I can only imagine how miserable life must be
For those who go to sleep hungry they live with death each day
In a fair World this would not be it would be fair to say.

Few women in business and politics succeed
For most males think it is their right to lead
And so few women have ever known renown
Down through the ages they have been kept down.

The Human World will never be what we want it to be
An honest World and a truthful World full of integrity
A World where all know freedom and of any vices free
Though not one truly perfect person or so 'twould seem to me

Poets have sung of royal monarchs and of pomp and ceremony
And many of these poets now famous live on in literary history
But the poets who wrote for the poor people their names few wish to recall
Life has been this way for centuries and things may never change at all.

I've seen some of the World beyond Duhallow
And so many roads I've travelled up and down
And a long long way from Australia to Ireland
And even further still to Millstreet Town.

The World might well be different if religion and patriotism
died
And if mistrust and greed died with them there would be peace World wide
But with these four still prevalent what hope for harmony

Or will he be the first ever person to survive the reaper and death?
He is one who has a huge ego he loves himself that bit too much it would seem
One thing that he does not suffer from and that is a sense of low self esteem.

The World is ruled by ageing egotistical males who wage war for others to suffer and die
Though they don't take part in the battle their good lives they live to enjoy
Yet why do we see them as special and build monuments in their name
When the World would be better without them they leave us their legacy of shame.

In this World there are all sorts of people the timid and bashful and shy
The arrogant and the deceptive those who find it easy for to cheat and to lie
We all share a few things in common we live for awhile and we die
Though our different personalities make us interesting are they any different to I?

You tell the whole World you're a poet yet in your poems you put down refugees
You say they all ought to be deported those from war torn Lands overseas
But poets they are fair minded people and they believe in a fair go for all
You lack in the true humanatarian feelings in your ways you are very small.

I hate the World I live in though live in it I must
Where the value of a poor person is seen as equal to a piece of dust
I feel detached from most people their attitude to life I hate
To money only money they do seem to relate.

The need for World peace is paramount and the need for World
peace we should embrace
And when you make yourself a better person you make the World a better place
And if every soldier refused to fight in war we would not have the war dead
