In A World Of Self Promotion Poem by Francis Duggan

In A World Of Self Promotion

In a world of self promotion the egotistical succeed
And 'tis not by good example that many do seem to lead
Posseessed by their greed for money and their need for renown
And they even do their very best to trample others down,
In a World of bureaucracy the poor suffer the most
And never to the pauper that others drink a toast
The ageing sugar daddy has a young and pretty wife
And when money speaks all languages one might say such is life
In a World of class distinction we have the sir and dame
And other who but me types with titles to their name
And an egalatarian society i will not live to see
But leave it to the reaper to create equality
And in a time of wars and famines the fact with us remain
That from the suffering of others the greedy stand to gain.
