I never could figure out the true meaning of father's day.

Buy the guy a tie?

If I could only see life
through the eyes of another
and walk in someone's shoes,
maybe they'd be Prada.

I slip into shadows
to hide my eyes.
I can't ever allow myself
to let them see me cry.

What an odd color combination
she wears on her skin like temporary tattoos.
Each week another 'accident' excuse.
Each week another bruise.

Gone are her ambitions,
she lost them along with the fifty pounds.
They just seemed to disappear overnight
like a deadbeat dad.
...

Because tomorrow I will
love you more than I do today
and just as the river
continues to follow its path,

She spritzes her honeydew perfume from head to toe,
even a dropp on her ankles.
I dare not ask why.

Love...
Only and always love.
All who live yearn for the illusion
so few will ever find.

footsteps of passersby
