Assayouti Jalaludeen Shuaib Poems

In spite of my hectic days
My arduous vary ways
In the quest to secure for old-age
Never will I deterred
...

If all I may say this time
Will fall-deep into your heart
And run through the veins to your brains,
I would need not to swear
...

Woe unto a luscious life
Transcending ubiquitous cliff
But plunge in the afterlife
And dwell in immortal grief
...

What else would be a mystery
Than this picture in my memory
Giving my sight an imagery
Of the fairy tales of the ancestry
...

What time have you
To mend the leaking pot?
What strength have you
To join the loosing thread?
...

Many years gone by in strain
Quivered by the tremor of trail
Whirlwind nearly capsized my sail
But, still I did not derail
...

I take the blame I took it slow
It's really my fault yes I know
Now I carry on my shoulder a hoe
To harvest what others have sown
...

Ask the Foreteller
Who knows the fetus of blind
Who can tell, a pregnant snail,
Who can tell, when his toothed-fowl
...

Ilorin

In spite of my hectic days
My arduous vary ways
In the quest to secure for old-age
Never will I deterred
To render my acoustic salute
To my darling city of Ilorin.

Gloomy days of ancient hours
In jahiliyyah era of Oduduwas
Days of superiority acclaimers
Glitz of smile you own
A pride of place to know
Entity of beauty to behold
From you sought abode.

From Okesuna the race began
At Kuwo Alimi reside
The Ilorin eponymous stone
Idi-ape the stone abide.

The island of knowledge
Home for the oppressed
Ilorite I am, I'm proud of,
What I am I show off
