Danielle Deery Poems

1.

I wish that you could trust me.
I don’t get why you don’t.
Maybe one day you’ll wake to see
That it’s probably because you won’t.
...

I find it hard, when there isn't any light.
Darkness is the evil which surrounds me tonight.
It's strange to see how much you glow.
How gentle the sound of water does flow.
...

He left the world, he died on wood
Wishing that we would see the good
But we didn’t and now you will see
He died to finally set us all free
...

You look up at the stars,
I can see your face.
A perfect picture
Of beauty and grace.
...

Every time I talk to you
My hope, my faith, my laughter too.
I know I'll always be friends with you
That at least will always be true.
...

For a moment I thought you loved me.
For a moment I thought you cared.
For a moment I thought you wanted me.
For a moment I wasn’t scared.
...

She met him on route from the pipes
He met her whilst riding his bike.

He smiled and showed her his balancing act.
...

8.

You said you’d never read my poems
So here’s one for you to read
I hope that you enjoy it
Because I worked very hard indeed
...

Could you answer this question?
What exactly is a friend?
Is it someone who’s there for you?
Until the very end
...

I’ve tried so hard to understand,
Why I’ve been dealt a failing hand
I’m doing everything to hear you say
You’re my baby girl, honey, please stay.
...

You left me once before
You saw me in the street
You looked across to me
And then down to your feet
...

Another moment
Another year
Another hope
Another fear
...

You look up at the stars,
I can see your face.
A perfect picture
Of beauty and grace.

Danielle Deery Biography

I have always been passionate about poetry; I find it so easy to just sit and write a poem in a few seconds. I like to write from my heart, and I think that this is the best way. If things come from the heart, they are always that little bit more emotional. Poetry that doesn't rhyme tends to annoy me a bit, although I have nothing against it. I tend to keep my poems to myself. This is a great way for me to see what people think of them without biased analysis.)

The Best Poem Of Danielle Deery

Trust

I wish that you could trust me.
I don’t get why you don’t.
Maybe one day you’ll wake to see
That it’s probably because you won’t.

I love you more than anything
I just can’t feel this pain inside
I don’t want to feel this burning sting
I have to keep some pride

If you want to part, then fine, let’s go...
But right this second, you need to know.

Whatever pain you’re feeling now
Can it be a pain at all?
I just remember thinking; “wow”
When I realised you’d made me fall.

I thought you said you loved me
But that obviously wasn’t true.
I honestly believed, you see?
What else was I supposed to do?

The hurt that I have been through
And the tenderness I’ve felt inside
Has never been easy to speak about
And even harder to hide.

I guess I thought you’d trust me
At least now I know you don’t
But going right back to before
Is it just because you won’t?
