Through my window
The sky looks dull
And I am sure
A storm will follow this lull
...
The walls are closing in
Shackles around my feet
However much I try
I was born not to beat
...
It is hard to fathom
An amazing link
Larger than the ocean
Deeper than any sink
...
The future is the way it is
Can’t change it so why try
Make the most of this moment
Before you know it will sail by
...
Hope is surely a strange feeling
We embrace it sailing the river of life
It gives us strength and liberty to dream
And provides the needed shade to thrive
...
As I stare at all the faces
Hidden behind the mask
Always plays hide and seek
Will surface without an ask
...
The fear lingers on
As the days turn to night
The silence is deafening
Nobody to share the plight
...
As we reflect on our own lives
We see it as a jar full of joys and strive
We feel blessed and thank our fate
And pray for the less fortunate
...
I stare outside my window
In the thinning light
There are long streaks of shadow
The sun has lost its bright
...
I look for him here
With purpose & vigor
I look for him there
With focus & rigor
...

The Perfect Storm
Through my window
The sky looks dull
And I am sure
A storm will follow this lull
The rain is now
Hitting my window
The beautiful drops
Forming a shadow
I love the sound
That comes to my ears
But they brings back memories
And my eyes fill up with tears
My heart is heavy
As the thoughts cross my mind
Why something so beautiful
Can also be so blind
It fails to distinguish
Between good and evil
When it comes down hard
It behaves like a devil
Big and small
It cares for none
Everything in its path
Is annihilated and undone
Families are broken
Memories and erased
What was built over years
Is lost, and never to be traced
When it is gone
The sky turns blue
But on the ground
There is a different hue
What was once a home
Has clearly been broken
But I take solace in the fact
That our will has not been taken
This one is not good for you. It just gives you turmoil. Sorry
