Douglas Goins Poems
From the time we breathe our first breath. To the day we take our last.
It's Always Been You.
Did I Lose You Yet?
I'm sorry if I have. Its just I have so many thoughts. So many ideas. So many dreams.
I Could. I could love you. With all my heart. And my entire mind.
Truth is. Life is something you can grasp. It's not a game. It's not a strategy.
In two seconds. You caught my eye. You placed yourself in my world. And I saw you.
The way she looked at me. Gave me my invitation. So close her body heat warmed the parts of mine that were cold. She leaned back.
never once in life was life not meant to be lived. not to have felt pain, love, and loss. never has it once given you that impossible moment. but what if it did.

But no matter what.
It will be there.
It’s a storm.
It will run through us until nothing is left.
Overcoming it is never easy.
There will always be hope.
But that hope is like catching lighting.
Everyday we stare jealously in the face.
