Jealously. Poem by Douglas Goins

Jealously.

Rating: 5.0

From the time we breathe our first breath.

To the day we take our last.

Jealously will flow around us.

At times it will be brought upon us.

Other times we will be the one to deliver.

But no matter what.

It will be there.

It’s a storm.

It will run through us until nothing is left.

Overcoming it is never easy.

There will always be hope.

But that hope is like catching lighting.

Everyday we stare jealously in the face.

Whether we know it or not.

It over whelms us to the point where it’s a part of our daily routine.

We get a lot worst before we get better.

It separates us from what’s worth fighting for the most.

And that’s our humanity.

Jealousy takes our hand.

It walks us down the roads of our life.

Every road in our life has 2 paths.

One path is hope.

The other is a rabbit hole.

Jealousy walks us to the rabbit hole.

So we fall deeper in a place where we lose more and more of our humanity.

One day we will come to a path where we will have to stop falling.

And we will have to catch ourselves.

Where we will have to start getting better.

To take the lead for ourselves.

Climb out of the rabbit hole.

And let go of jealously.

To walk away.

To know that every turn we take on those roads will be safe.

Find another path.

And hope.

Even if its one in a million.

Because with every storm comes lighting.

i dont understand why we even get jealous.. we should be happy with what we have, no be upset that someone has it better. becuase we all have something better than the next person. yuhr right, it is around us. but jealousy is just another way of being lik everyone else... Great way of putting it: ]
